Monday Moments in the Book of Acts

Reading Acts 1:12-26

“They all were continually united in prayer…” (Acts 1:14) As recorded in the Gospels, God had especially prepared this Upper Room for the Lord’s Supper. In Acts, these disciples experienced spiritual preparation in the Upper Room. What was the topic of their prayer? One can only speculate, but it must have been characterized by submissive waiting and praise. The word supplication implies that they were asking God to meet needs. Later they prayed (v.24) and we do know the topic. They asked God to show them the one to take Judas’ office. They followed the Scriptures. Ask God to teach you how to pray as if you were in the Upper Room.
